Benefits of Kale

Kale has gained a ton of popularity over the last couple of years and the reasoning is simple- it is probably one of the healthiest and nutritious plant foods on this planet. Per calorie, kale has more iron than beef, more calcium than milk, more vitamin C than spinach, yet it is very low in calories, and carbohydrates. 

Instead of using kale as the base in your salad why not try this delicious kale chip recipe? They are a delicious snack that could serve as an excellent alternative to regular potato or "veggie" chips and it is very easy to prepare.

Ingredients:

2 cups of Kale

1 tbsp Garlic

1 tsp Red Pepper

1 tsp Parsley

1 tsp Oregano

1 tbsp Olive Oil

Sea Salt (optional)

 

Kale

100

 

Macros:

Carbohydrates: 18g

Fat: 4g

Protein: 2g

 

Recipe:

Step 1: Rinse off Kale using warm water 

Step 2: Let the kale dry

Step 3: Peel off all Kale leaflets from the stem and add to a large mixing bowl

Step 4: Add garlic, red pepper, oregano, parsley, and sea salt if desired

Step 5: Mix 

Step 6: Spread olive oil on the entire surface area of a baking sheet 

Step 7: Add the kale to the baking sheet 

Step 8: Cook the kale in the oven at 400 degrees until the kale is crispy

Step 9: Take out of the oven and let it cool

Step 10: Enjoy as a side (instead of chips) or by themselves.
